Сценарій святв "St. Valentine’s Day"

I.S.- Ladies and gentlemen! Nice to see you at our St. Valentine’s Party.

N.I. - It’s here again, the day when boys and girls, sweethearts and lovers, husbands and wives, friends and neighbours exchange greetings of affection and love. Love! Happiness! Beauty! There are no so many days in a year when we pronounce these pleasant words. Today you have an excellent chance to dive into the atmosphere of love.

I.S.- “If you want to be loved, then love”, wrote Robert Bills. Being inspired by these words let me open our English feast of love and romance.

1. More than 17 centuries all over the world people who love celebrate this holiday.

2. Many valentines have romantic poems, others are humorous, but almost all valentines ask “Be my Valentine”. This may mean be my friend or be my love.

3. St. Valentine’s day is very popular holiday in England. St. Valentine is the patron saint of lovers. On the 14th of February young men and women declare their feelings for each other.

N.I. – Listen to the love song “My Heart Will Go On” by Celine Dion and try to fill in the gaps.

Єва. Love is one of the most mysterious feelings which people have ever known. It feels our hearts, our thoughts and our deeds.

Маша. Love is one of the best feelings. It comes from the heart and touches the heart; it makes us feel inspired, cheerful and kind.

Даша. Love is a magic feeling. It makes people better, stronger and kinder. People are happy because they love.

Таісія. And today, in such a remarkable day, we will try to write our own romantic story with a fascinating plot and the happy end.

Together.A love story. (Take feathers)

Соня.  If I were a poet I would begin my poem with the following words:

I’m writing to you, the hand is shivering,

And time is slowly running.

I’m hardly waiting for the minute

I’ll meet you…

Wake up on this special day

And read these words from me:

It’s not a dream. My love is true.

Look in my heart and see.

4. St. Valentine’s day has roots in several different legends. One of the earliest popular symbols of the day is Cupid, the Roman God of love, who is represented by the image of a young boy with bow and arrow.

5. Valentine’s day started over 2000 years ago as a winter festival, on the 15th of February. On that day, pagans asked their Gods to give them good fruit, vegetables and strong animals.

6. When the Christians came to Britain, they came with a story about a man called Saint Valentine. According to this story, Valentine was a Christian. Claudius decided that his soldiers must not marry, because married soldiers were not good at work. Valentine worked for the church. One day he helped a soldier to get married. The Emperor said that Valentine had to die because he did wrong.

7. In prison Valentine fell in love with the daughter of a man who worked in the prison. The day he died, he sent a note to this woman and at the end of the note he put: “Your Valentine”. He died on the 14th of February, so the date of the festival changed. Since that time we know it as Saint Valentine’s Day.

In the early 19th century people started to send Valentines Cards to their friends and sweethearts on the 14th of February.

I.S.-  Now you should agree or disagree with the statements about this holiday and raise the cards “True” or “False” You will get a point for every correct answer.
